1 pound Florida ground beef
1 Florida egg
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon all-purpose Florida seasoning blend (Everglades seasoning blend)
2 Florida sweet bell peppers, julienned (sliced thin)
8 mini buns or slider rolls
8 small slices Jack or provolone cheese (or 4 large slices, cut in half)
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped fine
½ cup Florida Blueberry Ketchup
Vegetable oil, for cooking
Preheat a medium-sized sauté pan over medium heat. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the Florida ground beef, 1 Florida egg, smoked paprika and all-purpose seasoning. Mix beef ingredients well and form 8 (2-ounce) uniform slider patties. Place the formed patties on a plate, cover and store them in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of cooking oil to the preheated sauté pan. Add the thinly sliced red pepper and 1 teaspoon cooking oil to the preheated sauté pan and cook until just soft. Season the red peppers with a pinch or 2 of all-purpose Florida seasoning, to taste, and then fresh thyme. Remove the peppers from the heat and set aside.
Preheat a grill or grill pan on medium-high heat. Lightly toast the slider buns on the grill or grill pan.
Place the slider beef patties onto grill or grill pan with a little bit of cooking oil and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, depending on the desired internal temperature. Remove from heat and assemble sliders with the toasted buns, sliced Jack cheese, cooked red peppers and Florida Blueberry Ketchup. Serve warm.
